US HoR District 6 

My name is Grace Meng and I’m running to be YOUR district 6 representative, where I will prioritize key issues such as: 

1) preserving bodily autonomy

2) addressing period poverty 

3) and preventing gun violence. 

Enough about my policies, Let me tell you a little bit about myself; I went to Stuyvesant high school and I’m the first ever asian-american member of Congress from New York. 

As a daughter of immigrants and a mother of two, I believe in acting for the people, and I know what’s important to new yorkers like you. 

I will work to provide medicare for all, advocate for equal rights, and secure housing. I’ve been representing district 6 since 2013, and I can’t wait to continue to improve our amazing neighborhoods!

Joseph Chou (R) was born in Japan in 1964, and spent ten years apart from his parents living with his grandmother in Taiwan. In 1974, he immigrated to the United States, and has proudly called Flushing, Queens, home ever since. Chou attended local public schools in Queens and earned his bachelor's degree in Business Administration, laying the foundation for his career in commerce and community leadership. For more than twenty years, he has operated a small business in Flushing, giving him firsthand experience with the financial pressures faced by working families throughout New York’s 6th Congressional District.  

Chou’s campaign focuses on several issues that affect families and communities across the district. As a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives District 6, he is committed to creating a balanced tax policy that lightens the burden on working families, improving access to healthcare and affordable childcare, supporting public and private education, and reforming the immigration system to make legal pathways fair and effective for everyone. He understands that economic security, reliable healthcare, and quality education are the pillars of strong families and thriving neighborhoods. The Chou campaign’s  primary goals are to promote economic opportunity for Queens families, amplify the voices of immigrant-owned small businesses, and present a practical legislative plan that brings tangible benefits to the district. 

Chou firmly believes that our government leaders should embody truthful and moral principles while remaining accountable and transparent to the communities they represent. Running under the campaign slogan, “Chou for Change,” Joseph Chou brings more than twenty years of experience as a Flushing small business owner,  an immigrant, and a longtime Queens resident.
