The NYC Campaign Finance Board Fines and Violations
The NYC Campaign Finance Board is an organization dedicated to following the money we keep citizens safe from exploitation. We make the rules regarding disclosure to encourage accountability. We also make sure all participants in elections are transparent with their finances. All the financial information we collect is shared with the public.
Missing Sheet Information: 5% of initial simbuck allocation
Negative balance: Subtract 50 simbucks at the end of each week
Missing Entire Record: 20% of initial simbuck allocation
Violating Fundraising Rules: 20% of current simbuck balance
Expired Poster: 25 simbucks
Campaigning outside of campaign window (including but not limited to public social media accounts, hanging flyers, and introducing oneself to constituents prior to the kickoff rally): 50 simbucks
Any other offense should be brought to the attention of the NYCCFB via email. The NYCCFB Commissioners will then determine the fine. All fines are subject to approval by the teacher of the NYCCFB classes and the Election Simulation Coordinator.
